New Necklace

Today's Cereal: Fruit & Yogurt Special K (finished the box!)
Current Mood: Annoyed with people.
The Boy's New Word of the Day: "Crisp". (He was trying to say Golden Crisp, which is what he ate for breakfast!)

Here's a new necklace I made this weekend. Tiny wooden beads paired with a large mother of pearl mosaic pendant. I'm rather fond of this one, and wish I could keep it for myself.

Making stuff makes me happy!

Nice necklace! Nice pic of it too.

I made a new necklace too, combining the 4mm faceted round light blue beads, with some tiny patterned barrel spacers and 7 amethyst glass teardrops. Mebbe I can take a decent picture and load it or something. The blue really brings out the PINK tones of the amethyst (makes sense, cause purple is pink and blue, and having blue next to the amethyst highlights the differences between the two).

YUM.

Well, if you don't keep it for yourself or give it to Jana, you know I would take it off of your hands. It is a very beautiful piece of jewelry. You have quite the talent for it.

Sara - we didn't take a picture of the necklace we put it on the scanner and put the yellow fabric over it and then scanned it. I think it worked better than trying to use the camera....

That is so gorgeous. I love mother of pearl. I have two pendants I haven't used yet that are made of it, but they aren't nearly as cool as that one. Did you get that where you live or mail order? I ask only because I have two sisters who are beading fanatics. When they say, "Bring your beads," I bring a little box. They roll in with a cases you practically need luggage wheels for. Amazing. I don't know how they find anything.

Anyway, beautiful. I love the combination. :)

Hey, thanks everyone! I was a little worried it was too PLAIN, but I liked the simplicity of it at the same time. I'm glad you all like it, too.

LOL, Lizzie-- I have the big bead case, too. I got both the beads and the pendant for this piece at http://www.beadsandpieces.com. Love that site! They have lots natural stuff (shells, gemstones, bone) which is what I like working with best. The shipping cost sucks, but evrything else is faboo. We have a couple of bead store in town, but they are so expensive I will only go there if I need something in a hurry. And I'm tired of the selections at Michael's and Robert's, so I do most of my buying online. Here are some other great beading sites, if you are needing a place to find cool stuff:
www.beadaholique.com
www.FineDings.com
www.abeadstore.com
